We are thrilled to go back to our roots and share a bit of our precious parts that are deeply connected to our history and background.
Discover here the origin of Pinet Industrie with Estève & Compagnie and the connection they have with music, especially the piano 🎹:
⚒️In 1840, Jean Estève opened a workshop crafting reeds, starting with minimal resources but fueled by a passion for music. This field provided favourable conditions for growth in the musical instrument industry that led to the creation of the harmonium, which increased the demand for reeds. Additionally, from 1864, Jean Estève mentored a young apprentice, Léon Pinet. Over time, he climbed his way through various positions in the company. In 1885, Jean Estève decided to sell his business to Léon, this handover marks the continuation of his craftsmanship in the Estève family lineage.
Léon's vision drove the company to international recognition and prosperity. Despite challenges, he always reflected his resilience and his entrepreneurial spirit.
As a tribute to Jean and Léon, both firms took their surnames, known today as “Estève & Compagnie” and “Pinet Industrie”. In 1950, Pinet started exploring new market opportunities and searching for new clients. As for today, it operates in multiple industrial sectors, producing hinges in series or tailor-made according to clients specifications. Currently in our range of products we still have continuous hinges known as piano hinges like a reminder from our past. 🙂
